Hi, I’m Matt!
Hey there! We may or may have not met yet. Nonetheless, I’m Matt. The guy behind the scenes here at Leisure Club. I’ve tirelessly spent the last 8 years, with the help of friends and family, building what you get to experience now. I’ve used every single dollar I’ve earned to invest into Leisure Club. I absolutely love this brand and the mission behind it, to bring friends and family together more often.
Prior to Leisure Club I spent the early years of my career learning everything I could about business through trial and error. (Similar to the Rocky IV montage where I’m Rocky) I graduated college from OSU with a degree in Fine Art and then dove into the world of entrepreneurship. Since graduating, I’ve started several businesses, spearheaded some fun and innovative projects, and helped to deliver results for some of Columbus’ most beloved brands.
In 2017, Leisure Club was born after a conversation around available third space options and the lack of thought that went into the guest experience. Most locations are very one dimensional, transactionally focused, and do not consider the visceral nature of the spaces they create. As someone obsessed with detail, I knew there had to be a different option. That’s how Leisure Club came to be.
If you want to dive deeper into the rabbit hole of why Leisure Club exists, I believe in 3 parts to life. Production, Labor, and Leisure. Production is developing and maintaining yourself and your immediate radial environment including family and home. Labor is using your unique skills to contribute back to humanity. Leisure is your chance to celebrate in the abundance of life. Whatever that means for you. Each of those three pillars comes with its own location, social network, dress code, and lexicon. The one that gets condensed the most in life is Leisure. The mission of Leisure Club is to help condense the requirements for Production and Labor to expand Leisure. This way, friends and family can spend more time celebrating together.
